Fresh Face: Local Yoga Cafe
IN YOGA, teachers help students align their bodies to get the most out of their practice, and sometimes that takes some physical adjustment. Life does, too.
Kaitlin Kovell hopped off the corporate ladder, returned home, and is bringing something new to West Chester—a business that aligns her values with a community need. Coffee, community, and crow pose will come together later this year at Local Yoga Café.
This venture melds Kaitlin’s love for yoga with a passion for creating community, fueled by her keen business mind. Kaitlin taught yoga at Penn State while studying business and public relations. Later, working as a strategy consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, she relied on yoga for grounding. “It wasn’t until I got very busy working that I needed it as a pillar of consistency in my life, along with Christianity,” she says.
She built a career at PWC, but felt unfulfilled. Kaitlin re-aligned her life, and adjusted. Moving back to West Chester gave her the foundation needed to launch into this next phase of her career.
Kaitlin is finalizing renovation plans for her space on Market Street. Look for a full slate of yoga classes of different styles with a café offering locally sourced food and beverages, and of course, plenty of space to linger with a book or friends.
“Our mission is to unite the community through yoga, wellness, and love,” she says. “I see a real need for something like this.”
