Speaker Series: “HEROin”

The mother and son, Liz and Eric Tankel, tell the dramatic (and eventually triumphant) story of their personal fight against the opioid epidemic. Pianist, vocalist, arranger and musical director, V. Shayne Frederick is cited by Broad Street Review as “one of the region’s…best jazz singers,” and All About Jazz as “one to watch” and a “shining light.” His singular voice, with its dulcet texture and substantial range, has a classic appeal with a bright, innovative flair. And he’s coming to West Chester! This monumental event will bring an incredible jazzy vibe right to the heart of the community.

Dan Shevlin loves to share his passion for music and he’s ready to showcase it again here in West Chester. Familiar to local fans, Dan and his band will be bringing a new assortment of songs for this special concert. Also, the Uptown! bar will be open for attendees.
Holy Matrimony’s Gospel/Jazz Concert in a Secular Setting

Holy Matrimony, the band that includes husband and wife team Rev. Robert and Michele Scott, brings a unique expression of praise and worship that blends pop and gospel musical styles. The team has been ministering throughout the U.S. for over 24 years, and they are now looking forward to an international ministry.
Adventure Travel Film Series: Mona Lisa is Missing

An Acoustical Evening With Hal Ketchum and Rising Star Travis Linville

Legendary singer/songwriter Hal Ketchum has a career that spans over 20 years, multiple top 10 hits, and an assortment of fantastic albums. Staples such as “Small Town Saturday Night” and “Hearts Are Gonna Roll” make up his impressive lineup. Joining him at this event is new country singer Travis Linville. We can’t wait to see this duo perform an electric set!

Nickerson-Rossi Dance presents “Mainstage”, the culmination of NRD’s “uNdeRstanD” outreach program. NRD is ardent about providing opportunities for young dancers to express both physical and emotional liberty through the medium of dance. This results in a unique theater presentation, with students in performance alongside professional dancers. As Director Michael Nickerson-Rossi says, “Nickerson-Rossi Dance is here to Inspire, Engage and Ignite.”

Windish Music Presents Galactic Empire

Classic Doo Wop

Joel Katz is a staple in New Jersey doo wop music. For decades he has been a major player in showcasing this musical genre and ensuring it continues to be strong within the community. Joel has a huge resume featuring stints in elite doo wop groups and background vocals for a variety of artists. Find out more about Joel and experience his work first-hand at this special event! Opening for Joel will be Frankie and the Fashions from Philadelphia.
Opera Tutti “Opera Meets LaLaLand”

Heidi Starr, Catherine Friedman, and Joshua Graves have been performing opera together for years and are excited to bring this wonderful musical experience to West Chester. This event will feature classic music featured in the movies. Movies and music, what’s not to like? TEDxWestChester – It Makes All the Difference

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Jazz Cocktail Hour: Sara Michaels & The Legendary Tom Adams Trio

Sara Michaels sings with the Tom Adams Trip who have worked with Bette Midler, George Benson, Ernie Watts, Sammy Davis Jr, and more. The trio also features Tom Adams on piano, vocals, Steve Varner on bass, and Grant MacAvoy on drums. Sara considers herself a “storyteller” in images and song.

The Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra and Flamenco sensation Liliana Ruiz will be bringing a unique, beautiful, and powerful performance to West Chester. This 22-piece orchestra includes strings and percussionists that bring the music to life. Lilliana will also be a brilliant addition to the performance with her detailed costumes and amazing footwork.
Speaker Series: Suspense and Thrills in Chester County
