Sometimes you just have to follow your passion. After studying and working in finance, Jennifer Jester found it wasn’t her calling. “My family assumed I’d have a successful career on Wall Street,” she says.
“I decided to pursue chiropractic after I had my own amazing experience recovering from an injury sustained while training for the Boston Marathon,” Jennifer says. “I couldn’t ignore the incredible need I saw in our community for solutions to the chronic conditions impacting people.”
Jester Family Chiropractic began in 2004 when Jennifer and her husband Deron opened with a vision to bring an elevated form of patient care to the greater West Chester Community. “We felt that a happy and productive community begins with happy and healthy people,” Jennifer explains.
"Women have a unique advantage in cultivating and nurturing relationships with customers and the community."
“I have since introduced Functional Medicine into our practice” she explains. “I wanted to offer patients suffering with chronic conditions true healing solutions.” Jennifer applies that holistic view to business, as well. “Sometimes women in business are underestimated,” she says, “but we actually have a unique advantage. We are generally intuitive and approachable, and excel at cultivating and nurturing relationships with our customers and the community.”
In West Chester especially, Jennifer sees women as a particularly effective force. “I love how many strong women we have in leadership positions, from Mayor Dianne Herrin and State Representative Carolyn Comitta to our Sheriff, Carolyn Welsh, and the many successful female business and nonprofit leaders in West Chester,” she says. “Not only are women a powerful force in our community, but the community supports and respects all of these women. I’m very proud of that.”
Jennifer hopes the next generation of female leaders will follow their passion and make service to others a part of their lives. Her advice? “Never doubt yourself, and don’t accept any limitation on what you can achieve.”
