Julianne Tettamanti – Co-Owner of Gemelli Artisanal Gelato & Dessert Cafe

Julianne Tettamanti and her husband Vincenzo opened Gemelli Gelato in 2014 to bring completely handcrafted gelato and desserts to West Chester. Now, Julianne is branching out and taking Gemelli on the road in her new-to-her vintage gelato truck—it’s a converted 1948 International Harvester Metro.
“We believe in doing things differently, and it starts with the high quality of our desserts,” Julianne says. “We don’t take the easy way out, so we had to do the ‘food truck’ thing a little differently too.” Julianne was determined to find a vintage truck, and when she did, her energy moved to overseeing the restoration— managing the project while it was renovated in Arizona.

They restored every original bolt and screw when renovating the truck. “It’s all vintage,” says Julianne, who studied industrial design and worked as a graphic designer before opening the shop. “I wanted to offer a unique experience to our customers, while designing something cool to go with the Gemelli brand.” Now that the truck is complete and open for business, Julianne will be the main driver of the renovated masterpiece.
“We offer our customers something they can’t find anywhere else—it’s in the way Vincenzo creates his artisanal gelato & desserts, the design of our store—and now in our vintage gelato truck,” she says. Look for Julianne and her Gemelli truck heading to private and corporate events, weddings and birthday parties.
