West Chester has no shortage of amazing bars, each with their own unique scene. And in most cases, the food is just as notable as the cocktails. We teamed up with our friend & local realtor Mike Ciunci to bring you nine of our favorites, just in time for warmer, walkable weather!
1. Teca *MIKE’S FAVE
We love Teca’s classy and welcoming ambiance. Sit at one of the most beautiful (and colorful) bars in town and have a glass of wine or enjoy a classic—The Sorrentino. Don’t leave without trying the burrata del giorno. Saluti!
2. The Social
Known for its live music across all genres, The Social is a fun spot to meet friends for a drink, (we love the Vojito) and enjoy live entertainment. FYI, the Cajun pierogies & Nola fries pair well with any beer.
3. Ryan’s Pub *MIKE’S FAVE
A classic Irish-American pub, we love their Friday happy hour. Or bring the kids on a weekday and share a classic Shepherd’s Pie. Try something different this weekend and go for their Keylime Pie Martini.
4. Kooma
Asian-fusion at its best in a stylish space that makes us want to linger. Enjoy the lively bar over sushi and a champagne cocktail—we love the Royale.
5. Appalachian Brewing Company *MIKE’S FAVE
One of the newest places in town, ABC is introducing us to quality Pennsylvania handcrafted ales, lagers, wines, and spirits. Check out the Argyle Sweater IPA the next time you stop by.
Teca
A fave spot for Sunday brunch (try the Sweet Potato Pastrami Hash), we love their locally sourced ingredients, and their extensive craft brews on tap. The perfect choice for casual date nights.
7. Iron Hill
A staple in downtown West Chester, we love their commitment to all things local, to community building, and to good beer & food. Any time of year try the Ore House IPA. Or if you want something seasonal, they constantly have new brews to choose from. End your meal with the decadent Triple Chocolate Hill dessert—a portion of the proceeds from every order goes to a local charity.
8. Mercato
Mercato reminds us of a cozy bistro in Philly. Located centrally on West Market Street, we like to start the night at the bar for a glass of wine, and then make our way to a table and always order the special. It’s easy to draw out your night here and stick around for dessert.
9. Bar Avalon
Grab some friends, share an antipasti board, a brick oven pizza, and lots and lots of Bar AV-tinis! Stay for live music on the weekends after 8pm. And we love this spot for a birthday party.
