    Making Change: align.Space

Chad Williams and John Ratliff, co-founders of the strategic consulting and boutique investment banking firm align5, have brought the 1908 Farmers and Mechanics Building back to life and created a unique co-working and event space called align.Space. The building’s transformation also reflects exciting developments in West Chester’s business culture.

The vision of align.Space is to build a creative business hub in Chester County. “We’re passionate about business and entrepreneurship,” Chad says. “We want to serve other entrepreneurs and help them turn their business dreams into reality by providing a beautiful, creative space and high-value content for the 21st century of business.” align.Space offers flexible co-working memberships so people can learn and grow, personally and professionally, and generate ideas, relationships, and opportunities.

Most memberships offer 24/7 access to the space with no long-term commitments—along with complimentary coffee and snacks. Co-working options range from a literal seat at a table to private offices for individuals or teams. align.Space also has multiple conference rooms, with world-class A/V, which can be rented by non-members as well.

align.Space’s unique event space, combining modern accents with thoughtfully preserved elements of the old bank building, is ideally suited for both business gatherings and social events. This space, like the conference rooms, is available to members and non-members alike. align.Space has already hosted numerous community events, and plans are in the works for happy hours, music events, and art shows. The possible uses for the space, Chad says, are endless.

“West Chester is a gem with so much to offer,” Chad says, “and we’re excited to be part of it and to develop community partnerships as the Borough continues to evolve.”
