The powerful treatments that help rid the body of cancer often come with side-effects and symptoms that can be debilitating, and last months or even years after treatment.
“Treating cancer medically is one part of the process, but maintaining health during treatment and healing after it is also important and often gets overlooked,” said Emily, breast cancer survivor and Unite for HER Wellness Program participant. “It is so valuable and vital to have an organization like Unite for HER to provide education and opportunities for complementary therapies.”

Based right here in West Chester, Unite for HER is a nonprofit that provides hands-on support to women with breast or ovarian cancer. Wellness Program participants receive education and therapies to meet their specific needs, including acupuncture, oncology massage, yoga and meditation, exercise, counseling, nutrition services, and more, fully funded by Unite for HER.

Since founding in 2009, the nonprofit has supported over 5,000 local women and recently announced an expansion of the Wellness Program to serve women affected by ovarian cancer.
“We are honored to be able to deliver our unique programming to more women facing a cancer diagnosis,” said Sue Weldon, Unite for HER founder and CEO. “Ovarian cancer is a very difficult disease to manage, often recurring and requiring ongoing treatments. Our supportive community of providers and survivors is there by her side through all stages of disease and treatment. “
Unite for HER is funded by the support of the local community. 100% of all proceeds raised benefit local women affected by breast and ovarian cancers and support Unite for HER’s Wellness Program in over 30 hospitals and cancer centers.
