    Mission

The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, Inc. (CVC) provides free, immediate, and confidential crisis response and compassionate support to children and adults impacted by sexual violence and all other crime. They provide assistance through counseling, advocacy, resources, and education. The Center fosters community  awareness and understanding through its comprehensive outreach and prevention programs.

    Direct Service for Victims

Two crisis support hotlines are available to anyone in need 24/365. Advocates are able to assist victims through challenging medical treatment and exams, police interviews, legal hearings and procedures, submission of compensation applications, or obtaining protection orders for themselves and/or their children. CVC also offers individual and group counseling.

    Prevention Education

Working with community members to build safer and healthier communities by raising awareness of violence, providing educational opportunities, and providing programming designed to address bystander intervention and prevent forms of violence, including bullying, sexual harassment, and sexual assault.

    History

CVC began in 1973 as the Rape Crisis Council of Chester County, a grassroots effort to develop an atmosphere that would enable the victim of a sexual assault to seek appropriate medical, psychological, and criminal justice system assistance. In 1976 the Center expanded to provide similar assistance to victims of all types of crime. In 1985 they officially became known as The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, Inc. All of their services are free and confidential.
