    What’s Up At Uptown! In August and September

    There is a whole new lineup of great events at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center for the summer and fall seasons including signature concerts and performances.

    Here’s what’s up at Uptown! in August and September 2018. Check out the website to get tickets to the below performances.

     

     

    Event: Classic Movie Monday

    When: August 20 – movie begins at 7pm

    About: Join at 7pm for a classic movie the way it was meant to be seen—on the big screen and in the company of other movie lovers. On August 20 watch Easy Rider. 

     

    Event: Dueling Pianos

    When: Friday, August 24 and Thursday, September 27 (both events at 7:30pm)

    About: Dueling Pianos at Uptown! features a new duo of talented and entertaining pianists every month. Audience driven, it’s never the same show twice!

     

    Event: Tony Deyo Comedy

    When: Saturday, September 8 at 8pm

    About: Tony Deyo is a stand-up comedian known most notably for his sharp, quick material and near-perfect comedic timing.

     

    Event: Opera Tutti Cabaret – “Opera LOL”

    When: Sunday, September 16 at 3pm

    About: This special edition of Opera Tutti Cabaret is focused on the more comedic side of opera and classical music. 

     

    Event: Speaker Series: Michal DiBerardinis, Leadership in the Public Sector Past & Future

    When: Tuesday, September 18 at 6:30pm

    About: Michael DiBerardinis, Managing Director of the City of Philadelphia, will speak about the role big cities play in protecting the values of justice, equity and opportunity established in American life during the last century, and how that role will continue—and change—in future years.

     

    Event: Jazz Cocktail Hour: V. Shayne Frederick & Ella Ghant

    When: Thursday, September 20 at 6:30pm

    About: V. Shayne Frederick is a pianist, vocalist, arranger and musical director with over a decade of stunning performance. He will be joined by Ella Ghant, a vocalist in the jazz/traditional pop style.

     

    Event: The Summer Club Sings the Sounds of Sinatra

    When: Sunday, September 23 at 7pm

    About: This swinging evening of singing, dancing and fantastic fun features Jeff Coon and some of his most talented and entertaining friends from Philadelphia and New York along with an incredible 17-piece, live Big Band.

     

    Event: Better Than Bacon: Interactive Improv Comedy

    When: Friday, September 28 at 7:30pm

    About: Better Than Bacon performs in completely unscripted improvisational games, which are all driven by audience suggestions and interactions.
